What is the Long Range Order in the Kolakoski Sequence

This paper has a survey part in which we collect the known properties of the Kolakoski sequence 2211212212 and compare these with the results known for the Prouhet-Thue-Morse sequence 122121122112. In the second part we introduce a new object, the Kolakoski measure which presumably describes the frequency behaviour of all subwords of the Ko-lakoski sequence.
