Benefits and Challenges of Using ICT in Saudi Arabia Universities: A Literature Review

Due to its far reaching influence on many aspects of educational institutionsand its potential benefits for educators and students, IT has become a topic of much interest within the educational community. University is one of the most important educational intuitions that can help develop a country and its people. One country needi ng to improve its education system is Saudi Arabia. This Paper started with review of the benefits of the ICT in Saudi Arabia universities which facilitate students studying, faculty members’ academic work and teaching. Also, it explored the challenging of use ICT for learning and teaching in Saudi Arabian universities. It explored the most important barriers that faculty members in universities face. It also investigated the barriers experienced by students when they use ICT. This paper tried to point ou t the benefits which could encourage decision -makers in Higher education. Also, it tried to investigate the main challenges which have affected the critical education factors in Saudi Arabian universities. The major conclusion of this study was that ICT use must be increased and made more effective in Saudi Arabia’s universities.
