Investigating ‘degree of adoption’ effects on e-procurement benefits

This study investigates the degree of adoption effects on e-procurement benefits across industries. A process based model was used to link 'degree of adoption' of e-procurement systems to the perceived benefits by managers of implementing companies. Various types of benefits were estimated based on responses by managers of implementing companies, such as financial benefits, technical benefits, relative performance of procurement system, perceived manufacturer and supplier benefits. Companies implementing e-procurement systems are thus expected to manage the internal implementation and adoption of the system as well as the external implementation and adoption of the e-procurement system by the suppliers, for the benefits of e-procurement system to be realised.
