OECD GUIDELINE FOR THE TESTING OF CHEMICALS In Vitro Skin Sensitisation: ARE-Nrf2 Luciferase Test Method

1. A skin sensitiser refers to a substance that will lead to an allergic response following skin contact as defined by the United Nations Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (UN GHS) (1). This Test Guideline (TG) provides an in vitro procedure (the ARE-Nrf2 luciferase test method) to be used for supporting the discrimination between skin sensitisers and nonsensitisers in accordance with the UN GHS (1).
