Bayesian analysis of load-curves through spline functions

This paper presents preliminary results of an analysis of household load-curves, using spline functions. Bayesian methods are used to relax, in probability, smoothness restrictions underlying spline functions. The comparison of various posterior distributions, corresponding to alternative prior specifications, allows one to better appreciate how far the data support the smoothness of the load- curve.
