Altered lipid profile in patients with COVID-19 infection

Coronaviruses are a large family of viruses which are known to cause a vast array of diseases, ranging from common cold to more serious conditions such as Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) and Middle Eastern Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) (1,2). Since December 2019, several cases of interstitial pneumonia have been reported in the city of Wuhan, a metropolis in the Chinese province of Hubei (3). Some patients rapidly developed acute respiratory stress syndrome (ARDS), acute respiratory failure, and other serious systemic complications. Deep sequencing analysis from lower respiratory tract samples indicated a novel coronavirus, which was initially named Original Article
