A Study of Scattering From Rough Surface With Different Scale of Roughness Based on the Efficient Numerical Strategies

In harsh environment, such as the desert, wind-driven ocean, forest, etc., the surface directly affected by communication signal (electromagnetic wave) is rough and of different roughness. In this article, using multiple numerical strategies, the electromagnetic scattering from rough surface with different scale of roughness is studied. Firstly, the scattering from rough surface by using the scheme of integral tangent plane approximation (ITPA) under tapered transverse electric (TE) wave incidence and shadowing modification is studied. The ITPA is formulized and verified in feasibility, memory usage and execution efficiency. Then, the scattering from rough surface with non-single roughness is further investigated by combing the ITPA, the high order integral small perturbation method (HISPM) and the method of moments (MoM). The contribution to the coherent and incoherent scattering parts from the components of different roughness is distinguished. Meanwhile, the scattering phenomena under multi-parameters are numerically analyzed.
