The Selection of Parents and Children for Legal Action in Connection with Unauthorized Absence from School

David Galloway obtained the Home Office Certificate in Residential Child Care and worked in a children's home and residential school for maladjusted children, before reading psychology and philosophy at Oxford. He trained as a teacher and educational psychologist at London University. Educational psychologist with Sheffield LEA from 1972-79, he was seconded to direct the Sheffield School and Home Project, a research unit on school attendance and behaviour problems, in 1978 and 1979. Currently a senior lecturer in education at Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand, he is the author of Case Studies in Classroom Management, Educating Slow Learning and Maladjusted Children (with Carole Goodwin), and Teaching and Counselling (in press).
