Array pattern synthesis using sparse representation of beampattern

A new array pattern synthesis method is proposed by using the concept of a sparse representation of beampattern, in which array pattern synthesis is achieved by evaluating the sparsity of beampattern and combining with a set of constraints on magnitude response. The proposed method can not only achieve a low sidelobe level, but also flexibly control the robust response region with specified beamwidth and response ripple.
