Dynamic response analysis of a deepwater steel catenary riser at the touchdown point

[Parallel English abstract]: This paper presents dynamic response of a deepwater steel catenary riser (SCR) under ambient excitations. The nonlinear spring is used to simulate the soil-riser interaction in the touchdown point (TDP). The SCR's dynamic characteristic parameters have been obtained by modal analysis. Dynamic response features of the SCR in different operation conditions have been acquired by transient analysis. According to the comparative analysis, it shows that the vessel heave greatly affects the stress of touchdown point, extreme value of displacement and bending moment occurs near the touchdown zone. In conclusion, the proposed approach provides a new strategy to simulate the TDP and the research results are helpful to the SCR's design.
