Design of Ethernet Access for Serial Devices Based on S3C44B0X and UClinux

UClinux embedded operating system has perfect networking performances, supports multi-threaded kernel scheduling mechanism. Processor S3C44B0X based on core ARM7TDMI, on which uClinux operating system is transplanted, is used in this design. CS8900A is adopted as network interface chip, and multi-threaded programming technology is used to realize the Ethernet access for some serial devices. Data transmission between serial port and Ethernet is achieved. This design has some characteristics, such as flexibility, low power consumption,simple expansion of function. It provides a solution for some traditional serial equipments to access Ethernet.
