Analysis of Depolymerization Product of Polybutylene Terephthalate by Liquid Chromatography

An accurate method for the DMT(dimethyl terephthlate) content on depolymerization of PBT(polybutylene terephthalate) was studied by means of high performance liquid chromatography on Diamonsil C18(250 mm×4.6 mm) with methanol and water(3∶1,V∶V) as mobile phase.The calibration curve of DMT was liner in the range of 0.005~0.25 μg(n=5),r=0.999 9 and RSD=1.25%.The determination limit of DMT content was 0.005 μg.
