A novel positioning technique for the 2.4GHz ISM band

Accurate indoor positioning is very challenging. At this time, no solutions exist that can offer accurate indoor positioning over large areas. In this paper, we present a novel positioning technique called LOST, which offers sub-meter accuracy in indoor environments and can maintain this accuracy over large areas (≫10.000m2). LOST consists of a novel ranging technique and a novel positioning algorithm. Currently, LOST has been demonstrated with a dedicated ranging PCB implementation and positioning algorithm that confirms the unique combination of accuracy and coverage both in indoor and outdoor environments.
