Theory of Multidomain States in the Ordered Phase of Crystals

The existence of multidomain states in crystals within the Landau theory of continuous phase transitions is studied and is shown to be dependent on the number of independent directions of space modulation and on the presence of terms linear in derivatives of order parameters in thermodynamic potentials of crystals.
