REAL TIME ROCKET FIRE SIMULATION IN VR SYSTEM

The general technique for fire simulation in a VR system is 2D texture mapping. In such case, it is almost impossible for users to observe the fire from arbitrary viewpoint. This greatly affected the realism of the system as well as the immersion of users. In this paper, we present a new method to construct 3D rocket fire in real time simulation. Satisfactory result has been obtained by employing this method at a reasonable computational cost.
