Comparative Study for Evaluating the Usability of Web Based Applications

A user plays a very important role in the success of any web application or web based interface, so it is expected that the user interfaces should be according to the requirements of customers. There are numerous web-sites and other web based applications available for users to satisfy their multiple needs such as communication, entertainment, shopping etc. But with these comes number of different types of usability problems. It is the duty of the developers or engineers to improve the web sites and web applications to satisfy the users by using some usability evaluation techniques and methods. This paper will try to find out addressed problems by evaluating selected popular web applications on the basis of different parameters. For this purpose the traditional observational methods of usability testing has been used. After testing these applications, few problems with evaluated web interfaces are found.
