On the analysis of UWB communication channels

Ultra-wideband (UWB) communication systems have been proposed for use in dense multipath or shadowed environments. Given the bandwidth of the signals involved, traditional signal processing techniques are often not applicable to the analysis of UWB waveforms. In particular, many array signal processing techniques for determining the angle-of-arrival which make use of a narrowband assumption are not suitable. An iterative algorithm for the UWB channel characterization is proposed and a discussion is initiated.
