Thesaurus in word processors : what shoult it be?

A new thesaurus structure for word processors is proposed. In contrast to the known Western analogues (e. g., the thesaurus in the Word Perfect package), the structure includes, in addition to synonyms and antonyms, hyponyms/hyperonyms, epithets of intensity, semantic derivatives, and desemantized verbs activating predicative nouns. Content, volume, and possible user groups for each part are substantiated. The synonymic part is discussed in detail. Considerations on organisation of access to the thesaurus components are given and reduction of a separate word and word combination to vocabulary format included. English and Russian examples are provided
