Solving and application of relative gain array in power system with FACTS devices installation based on linear model

Relative gain array (RGA) can quantitatively analyze interaction between FACTS devices. With aggravation of power system density and complexity, solving of RGA based on Phillips-Heffron model is too complex. The linear model of multi-machine power system with Static Var Compensators (SVC) and Static Synchronous Compensators (STATCOM) installed is established. The advantages of linear model are pointed out by comparing it with Phillips-Heffron model. Transfer function of system is derived by linear model, which can simplify the solving process of RGA matrix. To verify effectiveness of linear model, by taking SVC and STATCOM as the research object, the relationship of interactions and electric distance between SVC and SVC or between SVC and STATCOM are investigated based on linear model and RGA analysis. The time-domain simulation is used to verify the validity of interactions analysis results.
