In the molecular structure of the title compound, C25H21NO4·CHCl3, the indolequinone unit is essentially planar and the cyclohexen-1-one ring is in an envelope conformation. The dihedral angle between the indole and methoxyphenyl groups is 81.78 (8)°. The molecules are linked via weak intermolecular C—H⋯O interactions to form dimers and these dimers are stacked approximately down the b axis. The crystal structure is stabilized by weak intermolecular C—H⋯O interactions and C—H⋯π interactions.
