Introduction to Chaos Theory and Electric Drive Systems

This chapter introduces the necessary background knowledge for this book. Firstly, some basic theories of chaos are described. They include the basic principles, criteria for chaos, bifurcation, routes to chaos, and the analysis of chaos. Secondly, some fundamentals of electric drive systems are described. They include the DC drive systems, induction drive systems, synchronous drive systems, and doubly-salient drive systems.
