Digital PWM controller for DC-DC converters with minimum analogue circuits

A digital pulse width modulation controller is proposed for DC–DC converters. Most conventional digital controllers have required analogue-to-digital converters (ADCs). However, because of the significant power consumption of the ADC, as well as the design time and silicon area, use of digital controllers for battery-operated systems has been limited. To overcome the disadvantages of ADC, a simple but effective deadzone comparator is proposed.
