S/W upgrade for on-vehicle information devices

As the size of the software for on-vehicle information devices becomes larger, there is an increasing need to fix bugs after their shipment. It is difficult to release software with no bugs. In many cases, software upgrades take place repeatedly; this involves managing a considerable number of versions, which is difficult. In this paper, we propose a new model for software upgrade and a method to merge the deltas between different versions of on-vehicle information devices through telematics services.
