Broadband traveling wave tubes in Ka- and Ku-band

The paper presents the capability of THALES Traveling Wave Tubes (TWT) for broadband satellite applications in the Ku- and the Ka-band. In the last years on the communication market a significant increase of data transfer has been recognized. Based on this continuing trend the satellite infrastructure has to provide a flexible and broadband solution for the communication equipment. The RF amplifier has a key role in the definition of the performance. The Traveling Wave Tube technology is able to support the broadband characteristic.
