Fuzzy PI auto-tuning system for vector-controlled induction motor drives

This paper presents a fuzzy reasoning-based new auto-tuning method for the speed controller (PI controller) in vector-controlled induction motor drive systems. A fuzzy rule plane based on the phase plane is introduced, and the trajectory of the motor speed step response is described in this plane. At characteristic points defined on this trajectory, a fuzzy inference is implemented to obtain appropriate gains of the controller. This system has been applied to the model drive system with 0.75 kW induction motor, and the performance of this system has been substantiated by simulations.<<ETX>>
