A Survey on Body Area Network

With the growing amount of old people in world population, the concept of Body Area Network(BAN) is expected to be an important technology in the near future, which could provide the mobility health care for the patients with wearable devices who are roaming in the coverage of a medical monitoring system. However, there exist some challenges to the application of BAN, such as power consumption, bandwidth limitations, tissue protection (absorbed by human body), diverse data rates supporting and coexistence and interference. In order to provide a better understanding of the research challenges of BAN, this article presents a detailed investigation.
