A whole farm simulation model was developed over the past twenty years, which providesa research and teaching tool for evaluating the long-term sustainability of crop, dairy, and beeffarming systems. Over this period, the model has been used to evaluate numerous technologies andmanagement strategies including forage harvest and preservation techniques, manure handlingmethods, cropping systems, and feeding strategies. Current work is using the model to evaluate theimpact of various farming practices on nutrient losses from the farm and farm profitability.
