Synchronized beating of and electrotonic transmission between myocardial cells mediated by heterotypic strain cells in monolayer culture.

Abstract 1. 1. The strain cells, FL, HeLa-S3, XX-male, NIHT6L, 3T3, Vero, BSC-1, LLCMK2, CNQ-1, CNQT-2, 4NTH, SVT and HA-111, mediated synchronized beating of mouse embryonic myocardial cells in monolayer cultures. 2. 2. The strain cells, L and one type of NQ-19/clone no. 4, did not mediate the synchronized beating of myocardial cells. 3. 3. Rhythmical depolarization potentials were recorded from HeLa-S3 cells mediating the synchronized beating of myocardial cells.
