Stereo correlation : window shaping and DEM corrections

The accuracy of digital elevation models (DEMs), extracted automatically from terrain images using digital correlation methods, can be enhanced by performing simple, linear, window shaping operations within the correlation method. Window shaping reduces the size and shape differences between small corresponding areas on stereoimages and contributes to a more accurate determination of stereoimage correspondence and, consequently, DEM values.
