The strength-size relation of granite

Abstract The strength-size relation of granite has been measured for cylinders with a length equal to the diameter at diameters 2, 3, 4 and 6 cm. The strength was found to decrease with increasing size, and the values obtained coincide with the Weibull theory m log p B1 p B2 = log V 2 V 1 .
