A variable frequency vibration absorption approach in flexible mechanical structures

An active vibration absorption scheme for variable frequency vibration suppression in flexible mechanical systems is proposed. Mass-spring-damper dynamic vibration absorbers, differential flatness and integral error compensation are used during the synthesis of a vibration absorption scheme. Integral error compensation is also employed to improve the robustness of the active vibration absorber to attenuate resonant harmonic vibrations. The measurement of the output position variable on the primary system is only required for the implementation of the active vibration absorption scheme. Some numerical results are included to show the effectiveness of the proposed control approach.
