Coexistence of 10G-PON and GPON reach extension to 50-km with entirely passive fiber plant

We describe novel truly-passive coexistence of 10G-PON and GPON compatible reach extender using Raman amplifications. For the first of time, operation of coexisting 10G-PON and GPON over 50-km fiber is successfully demonstrated with 96-way splitter.
