Design Method of Buckling-delayed Reinforced Members

Based on the available research results of buckling-restrained braces,the design method of buckling-delayed reinforced members(BDRM) was presented.The effects of stiffness and strength for outer members on stability ultimate bearing capacity of whole members were studied when the core members had been determined.Through lots of finite element examples and theoretical derivation,the formula for calculating stability ultimate bearing capacity of BDRM was achieved.The distances between ribbed panels and the design control conditions of long screw connectors were suggested.Research results show that BDRM can be used for reinforcement of existing members in old building structure,and the design method can provides the guidance for engineering applications.
