An Optimization Technique for Protocol Conformance Testing Using Multiple Uio Sequences

Abstract A new technique of test sequence generation is proposed for the protocol implementation to be conformable to the protocol specification. This technique involves the conversion from the transition graph of the protocol into a U -graph so as to generate a test sequence utilizing multiple unique input/output (UIO) sequences. By introducing the Rural Chinese Postman Algorithm, this technique can be employed to generate an optimal test sequence for a protocol with either the reset capability or at least one self-loop per state.
