A Landscape Atlas of the Chesapeake Bay Watershed.

Abstract : A "landscape" approach is needed to assess ecological conditions over such a large area. Some of the most important aspects of environmental change occur at the broad spatial scale of whole landscapes, and these cannot always be detected in small-scale studies. Because landscape patterns and trends are the context for the condition of embedded ecosystems, such information has proven useful for both local and regional assessments.
