Calculus b-learning with java tools

Nowadays, information society we live in needs wider educational spaces, and internet provides a powerful tool to introduce new educational technologies and to use online applications. Indeed, TICs (technologies for informatics and communication) provide a very positive aid to the learning tasks. Interactive tutorials allow access to a big amount of information in a multi-sequential way, by using specifically designed Java applets suitable for the learning of a specific knowledge. Due to these facts, the use of these tools has many advantages for learning mathematics. In this sense, we present here an interactive tool for differential calculus within a theoretical environment. Moreover, we show how to make a good use of this type of tools, integrating them with traditional teaching methodologies, as well as non-traditional ones, arising in the convergence towards the European Higher Education Area.
