QUALIDADE DE SEMENTES DE SOJA PRODUZIDAS EM PARAGOMINAS, PARÁ / QUALITY OF SOYBEAN SEEDS PRODUCED IN PARAGOMINAS, PARÁ

Seed production at the Paragominas agricultural center can be a viable alternative, both for the growth potential of this region, as well as the proximity to local farmers and the possibility of developing and adapting cultivars to local climatic conditions. The aim of this study was to evaluate the quality of soybean seed produced in Paragominas, Para. The experiment was arranged in a completely randomized design with four lots and five repetitions samples collected from five kilograms of seeds per lot. Physical quality variables analyzed were: weight of thousand seeds, moisture content and mechanical damage. Was evaluated the physical quality (weight of one thousand seeds, moisture content and mechanical damage), physiological quality (germination test, first germination count, accelerated aging, electrical conductivity, seedling emergence in the field and the emergence speed index of the seedlings) and the sanitary quality of the seeds (filter paper test). Data were analyzed by Anova by F test and when significant differences were found between batches, their averages were compared by Tukey test. The results of this work lead to the conclusion that it is possible to produce seeds with high physical, physiological and sanitary quality in Paragominas. The seeds of lots 4 and 1 respectively, performed better than the other lots, presenting lower rates of mechanical damage, higher percentage of germination and vigor and lower incidence of fungi.
