Designing the patch antennas based on PBG structure with the high impedance type surface,this experiment uses the frequency band to inhibit the surface wave which produced by the antenna.To obtain the radiation orientation pattern,and compared with the conventional microstrip antenna patch,the article confirms that the introduction of photonic bandgap materials can effectively restrain the dissemination of surface wave when the situation is surface wave influence quite remarkable.Through this way to improve the original antenna's performance.Simulation results show that the gain of PBG antenna raised about 0.53 dB than ordinary patch antennas.
