Law-abiding and legality from the cultural traditions in the laws of the east and west——the death of Socrates as a guiding example

Law-abiding is not the norm in contemporary China.By contrast,the law from the idea of power is engraved in people's minds,which greatly hinders the process of China's rule of law.This paper attempts to compare the tradition of the legal culture between the east and west,analyzes the two Sages' attitudes in law.In the end,the authors describe the interacting relation in setting of ruling society by law and developing of law-abiding spirit.The analysis finds that the law can only be effective after it is believed and law-abiding spirit can only be been in legality.Besides,the law should be accepted and practised by people and a better combination of the acceptance with legal environment can achieve the realization of legality.
