Anisotropic behavior of the Reynolds stress in gas and gas–solid flows in cyclones

Abstract A two-dimensional fluid dynamic model based on the anisotropy of Reynolds stress in gas and gas–solid flows in cyclones is presented as a means of not only providing all the details of the hydrodynamic variables maps, but also of predicting the solid volumetric fraction profile and overall efficiency. The numerical results show good agreement with the most recent experimental data reported in the literature.
