This paper describes new technologies aimed at drivers who want to have fun in their cars. These are drivers who want to race their vehicles or go off road. These technologies include the G. Meter display, which relates chassis movements in a graphical/numerical way to the driver in a concept car built by Chrysler and called the Crossfire. Similarly, compass instrumentation, such as that found in the Jeep Compass concept vehicle, includes a full rotating compass as part of the standard instrument cluster. Another technology combines a laptop computer with a built-in LCD display that allows drivers to consult topographical maps.
