An investigation into the explosive deep drawing of circular blanks using the plug-cushion technique

The results of an investigation into the effect of hydrostatic head and standoff distance when explosively deep drawing circular blanks using the plug-cushion technique are presented. This paper is a continuation of work reported earlier.3 Special attention is given to the two phases in the displacement-time history of deforming blanks which are shown to exist and the factors probably responsible for the second phase are discussed.
