A Clamp for Carotid Artery Surgery with Internal Bypass Shunt

A new clamp substituting for the surgical tourniquet in extracranial carotid surgery with use of an internal shunt is described. The clamp offers better exposure of the operative field and promises quick holding of the internal shunt without fear of injury to the arterial wall, even when the distal and deep inter nal carotid artery must be secured.
