Numerical simulation of the Portland tidal eddies

Abstract A numerical model in the Portland region simulates the hourly development of the Portland eddies. These eddies are generated by vorticity derived as the tide curves round Portland Bill. The hour by hour development of tidal streams are then summarized in terms of the tidal ellipse properties for this region.
