The control system of a satellite in attitude comprises a first control stage (1 1) consisting of gyroscopic actuators and a second control stage (14) consisting of reaction wheels respectively operated under a set of programmed processing (5, 6), the first to ensure the satellite attitude change and the second to ensure precision and stability of the satellite pointing. The process is intended to be used for a satellite comprising the two stages of control indicated above that selectively operates for the operations indicated above.
