Motor vehicle accidents by young drivers, licensed persons between the ages of 16 and 21, have become a focus of international concern. While researchers agree that a proclivity to have accidents may be in some way related to universal characteristics of young people, they have emphasized different empirical factors. This volume offers multiple perspectives to identify, define, and describe young drivers, eliciting recommendations and conclusions. Collectively, the findings give insight into young drivers' everyday lives, offering program developers information to help design measures that are relevant to the lives of young drivers.
