An 8∼20GHz wideband frequency synthesizer

This paper describes an 8∼20GHz wideband, low spurs and low phase frequency synthesizer module with 10MHz step size, based on PLL (Phase-Locked Loop) and direct analog synthesizer technology. The module consists of five parts: the frequency multiplier, PLL1, PLL2, and two switch of filter bank. The experimental measurement of the actual module shows that the spurious are less than −55dBc and the phase noise is about −90dBc/Hz at 1kHz offset. In addition, the output power level flatness is 13.5dBm±3.5dBm.
