A Deterministic Repair Model for Goods-Producing Equipment

Abstract A deterministic model is formulated for the scheduling of major and minor repairs of goods-producing equipment. A procedure is suggested to find the optimal values of duration and the number cf minor repairs between any two consecutive major repairs in order to minimize the total cost per unit time comprised of repair costs, downtime costs, and unit production cost. A sensitivity analysis is carried out to explain the behavior of optimal values with variations in the parameters of the problem.
