315Mbps Internet of Vehicle Communication System Using Car Head Lamp Based on Weighted Pre-distortion

In this paper, we proposed and experimentally proved a vehicle lamp visible light communication (VLC) system with a speed of 315Mbps, which can be used for communication between car and car in the Internet of Vehicles (IoV). The transmitter light source uses a commercial vehicle lamp to transmit a signal modulated by 64QAM-DMT. The weighted pre-distortion is used to reduce the nonlinear damage caused by amplifiers and photoelectric elements. The optimal performance of the system is achieved by modifying the weight coefficient. The zero-padding is used to improve the performance of the system. A PIN (S6968) is used on the receiver to receive data. By combining these technologies, an aggregate data rate of 315Mbps is successfully achieved in 3-m indoor free space transmission with the BER rate of 10−4 below the FEC limit of 3.8 × 10–3 by using a car headlamp. As far as we know, it is the highest rate of communication using a car head lamp.
