A ZVS Buck Converter with fixed Frequency Control

A zero-voltage switched(ZVS) buck converter is proposed in this paper. With a clamp switch both power switches are operated in ZVS. To adapt to the high frequency application of this topology and further reduce the size and cost, this paper proposed a fixed frequency control method with simple structure. Higher efficiency and power density can be achieved. Experimental results based on a 30W, 500kHz prototype are provided to verity the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed converter.
